Surgical theatre and Anaesthetic machine

The vet clinic contains a fully equipped designated surgical theatre. We use isoflurane gas anaesthetic so your pet is breathing about 98% oxygen during their procedure for improved safety. They are monitored at all times and an alarm goes off if they do not breath within (usually 20 seconds).

Intravenous fluid therapy

If they need fluid therapy then an infusion pump is available so that the correct amount at the right speed goes in despite changes in their posture e.g. when asleep in the hospital overnight

Blood testing machine

A laboratory machine is available for pre –anaesthetic blood testing to make sure their kidneys and liver are in good order to break down the anaesthetic agents and pain relief is safe for that patient

Other diagnostic equipment

Sometimes we need to do other tests on sick pets.

Pets with heart problems may need an ECG  to enable them to receive the best care quickly .

Dentistry

Routine teeth scaling is performed with an ultrasonic scaler such as your own dentist will have.

And for fractured crowns root canal therapy is available.

Radiology

To help with our dental care we have a human dental x-ray machine.

And for regular x-rays we use a big machine that has high speed for taking good pictures.

Hospital facility

The hospital is warm and comfortable

Cat Boarding

And there are facilities for a small number of boarding cats.

Pet food and other retail supplies

Of course we stock a wide range of diets and other retail products.

And can advise on the best options depending on weight, breed and age.
