Blood testing The blood testing machine at Remuera vet enables us to do common tests on site .This is especially useful for pre –anaesthetic testing to determine that your pet has healthy kidneys and liver that will break down anaesthetic agents and pain killers normally.
Urine testing Urine testing is invaluable in spotting signs of failing kidneys in particular. As this would be the most common problem in older pets we see it is important to be able to pick up early signs as these days treatment will slow its progression by at least 50%.
Microscope examinations We use the microscope commonly to help spot skin mites ,bacteria and yeasts in ears and sometimes urine crystals .
